Parent Partnership Guidelines
At Con Brio, we believe that success and enjoyment in piano study is a partnership — between instructor, student, and family. When everyone aligns in purpose, consistency, and encouragement, remarkable musical growth takes place. This guide outlines how we work together to support your child’s journey.
Our Partnership Philosophy
We view your role as essential, not optional. From celebrating progress to supporting daily practice, your involvement sets the tone for success.
Your Role at Home
– Create a quiet, focused space for daily practice.
– Review weekly feedback and assignments with your student.
– Ensure access to our exclusive online piano portal and digital materials.
Communication & Feedback
Active engagement with weekly feedback is an essential part of your child’s progress. Parents are expected to review and acknowledge lesson notes and feedback shared through the Online Piano Portal (Google Classroom) in a timely manner.
Please check for updates or new posts at least twice weekly and respond promptly to any communication, even with a brief acknowledgment. This ensures that feedback is received, understood, and integrated into home practice without delay.
Our studio maintains an open and collaborative communication rhythm, and responses are expected within 48 hours of receiving correspondence or feedback. If a message goes unacknowledged, follow-up reminders will be sent until confirmation is received to ensure continuity and alignment in your student’s learning experience.
Online Piano Portal — Google Classroom
Google Classroom serves as each student’s Online Piano Portal and is an essential part of the Con Brio learning experience. Families are expected to ensure that the portal is accessible on a daily basis and that students are regularly reviewing posted assignments, lesson notes, practice guides, and studio updates.
The Google Classroom app should be installed with notifications turned on. The app is especially useful for quick comments, reminders, and uploading photos or videos directly from a phone or camera roll.
For the most complete experience, families should also access Google Classroom regularly from a computer browser. The computer version provides the clearest access to weekly assignments, posted materials, and feedback details. Families are strongly encouraged to print the weekly practice guide as soon as it is posted so students can keep it at the piano for focused, distraction-free practice.
Please note that some features, including weekly feedback grades, may not be fully visible in the mobile app. For this reason, families should use both the app and the computer browser, with the computer version serving as the primary way to engage thoroughly with the portal.
Supporting Practice & Progress
– Recommend at-home routine: 5 days a week minimum, appropriate daily duration.
– Celebrate achievements — this builds confidence and lifelong love of music
– Encourage students to create goals, plan for performances, recitals, and milestone events.
Our families are the heart of Con Brio.
Here, learning the piano is a family experience—rooted in encouragement, reflection, and celebration. Together, we help your student build skills that last a lifetime and memories that inspire for many years to come.
“Music-making brings people together. It compels people to work together. It demands people listen to each other. It encourages people to express together. It insists people consider each other. It helps people produce something wonderful together. Music-making is awesome-making.”
