Who can take lessons at Con Brio Piano Studio?

We welcome learners of all ages and backgrounds—whether you’re starting your first piano lesson or returning to music after a break. Our programs are designed to meet each student’s unique pace and goals.

Why “members’ studio”?

Con Brio operates as a members studio, meaning lessons run on a continuous, year-round basis. Membership represents an ongoing investment to musical growth, with tuition billed monthly and your lesson time reserved exclusively for you.

Members enjoy full access to the studio’s ecosystem — including the Online Piano Portal, individualized long-term planning, participation in studio events, MTA and GHMTA festivals, and use of the student member rental studio at preferred rates.

Non-members may book drop-in lessons at a premium rate, but these single sessions do not include access to studio resources, membership privileges, or event participation.

How do I know which lesson format is right for my family?

Con Brio offers several lesson formats to meet each student’s needs, schedule, and stage of study. Every program shares the same foundation of high-level piano education and individualized attention—but the format determines how that experience unfolds.

Each family’s program placement is carefully matched through the meet-and-greet audition process, where we discuss goals, learning preferences, and availability. Whether your student thrives in the studio, at home, or online, every path at Con Brio leads to growth, artistry, and joyful musicianship.

What is the typical progression for a beginner?

Students begin with foundational technique, music literacy, and basic repertoire. Lessons gradually incorporate improvisation, composition, and performance skills. Each student’s journey is individualized to foster both technical proficiency and creative expression.

Do students need their own piano?

Yes. A piano or full-sized keyboard at home is necessary for practice between lessons. For In-Home lessons, we can provide guidance on ideal placement and setup to ensure a productive learning environment.

How often should beginners practice?

Daily practice is essential for building foundational skills and fostering a lifelong connection with the piano. Beginners are encouraged to practice 15–20 minutes per day, gradually increasing as their proficiency grows. Consistency is more important than duration—small, focused daily sessions are far more effective than infrequent, longer sessions.

Are performance opportunities available for beginners?

Absolutely. We host recitals and participate in events through local music organizations. Performance is framed as an enjoyable opportunity for growth, confidence-building, and musical celebration.

How quickly will my child see progress?

Progress varies by student and practice consistency. At Con Brio, lessons focus on measurable growth while fostering a lifelong love of music. Our structured yet flexible approach ensures steady development for every learner.

How do I prepare my child for their first lesson?

Just bring enthusiasm, a learner’s heart, and focus! Having a quiet practice space at home will support daily practice and reinforce the skills learned in class.
