Studio, Waiting Area, Outdoor Space & Arrival Policy
The studio premises—including the porch, windows, doors, and large outdoor space—are not for recreation or gathering. Please avoid running, playing, loud conversations, or knocking, as they disrupt lessons.
What to Bring: Bring all your music books/binders and curriculum to each weekly class. It is good to have a tote bag to keep them organized so that you don’t forget them for class. No food or drink is allowed in the studio.
No Early Arrivals: To maintain smooth transitions between lessons, students may approach the porch no more than one minute before their scheduled lesson time. If you arrive earlier, please remain in your car or off-site until it is time to come in.
Porch Seating Area - for Adult Parent Use Only: The covered porch seating is reserved for adults only, with a maximum of three people. Please respect the learning environment by not talking, remaining quiet while waiting outside the studio. Do not touch, knock on, or stand close to the glass windows and door to avoid disturbing the student in session.
Where to Wait: Families waiting for a student’s lesson must remain quiet and respectful of the learning environment. Additional family members should wait in the car or find another location. The large green space is not to be used as a play area at any time by students or family members. Please refrain from congregating or creating any noise. Thank you for helping us maintain a focused, distraction-free space for our students.
Hand Hygiene & Restrooms: To maintain a clean and healthy environment:
Students must sanitize their hands before entering the studio.
The nearest public restroom is located across the street at the public dock next to Tide’s Tavern.
Dress Code: Students are expected to arrive in neat, orderly, and respectful attire appropriate for focused study. Clothing should allow for full range of movement at the piano and should not include distracting or offensive graphics. Secure shoes are required, as sandals, flip-flops, or any footwear that may slip off are not suitable. Hair should be kept off the face and neatly tied back to ensure full concentration. Jewelry and accessories should remain simple and unobtrusive so that they do not interfere with playing.
Health: For the health and well-being of everyone, students who are sick are asked to stay home. This includes fever, stomach issues, contagious coughs, colds, and other illnesses. Students who arrive visibly unwell—sniffling, coughing, or expressing that they are sick—will be asked to leave. Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy learning environment!
