CON BRIO PIANO STUDIO General Member Policies

  1. Tuition is charged at a fixed monthly rate.

  2. Payments for lessons are due by the first lesson day of every month. Payments are received via Electronic Banking through QuickBooks. Please note that a $25 late fee is automatically charged for payments received after the first lesson day.

  3. The annual administration fee of $50 is applied every August. This fee supports administrative costs, provides additional services to students, and ensures the continuation of ongoing services.

  4. Con Brio Piano Studio follows the Peninsula School District break system for all scheduled breaks. Please note that no lessons will be scheduled during the Peninsula School District breaks or on federal holidays.

  5. Rescheduling or makeup lessons are not offered at our studio. We have designed our lesson schedule carefully to accommodate all students, and as such, we are unable to provide makeup lessons for missed classes. No refunds are given should a student be unable to make their weekly scheduled class. We kindly request that you provide us with at least 24 hours notice if you anticipate being absent from your scheduled class. This allows us to manage our schedule effectively and offer the best learning experience to all our students. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our attendance policy.

  6. In the event of teacher absence, providing continuity in your musical education remains a priority. To address such situations, the following policy is in place:

    • Students may receive up to 3 asynchronous lessons per calendar year to accommodate teacher absences.

    • Asynchronous lessons will be provided in the student’s Online Piano Portal and may include pre-recorded video lessons, lectures, or alternative learning materials. These lessons will be provided within a reasonable timeframe after the missed class to ensure minimal disruption to the student's progress.

    • In the rare event that more than 3 asynchronous lessons are required in a calendar year, a prorated refund or credit for the missed lessons will be offered.

  7. Learning to play an instrument is a long-term commitment. Consistency is the key to progress. If a student requires a temporary pause in their lesson subscription due to an extended absence from home or any other reason, we offer the option to hold their spot by paying a retaining fee equivalent to 80% of tuition for the duration of their time off. This arrangement ensures that their enrollment status, lesson day/time, and progress are preserved, allowing for a seamless return to lessons when they are ready to continue their musical journey. We understand that circumstances may arise that necessitate a break, and this option provides flexibility while ensuring the student's place in our studio is secured.

  8. Pausing or Discontinuing: Please speak with me if you/your child is showing decreased interest. A change in approach, different music, books, and activities usually help. Acting early is best, and taking a break is usually counterproductive.

  9. Students are required to provide a minimum of one month's notice for lesson termination. Refunds will not be given for terminations made with less than one month's notice. It is important to note that the notice should be submitted no later than the 5th of the month if you intend for that month to be your final month of lessons. If notice is received after the 5th, the following month will be considered the last month of lessons. This policy allows for appropriate scheduling adjustments and ensures a fair and organized process for all parties involved. Lessons may be discontinued as needed at any time and for any reason by parents/adult students/teacher.

  10. By registering in our studio, all students grant permission for photos and videos of themselves to be used indefinitely by the studio. These visual materials will be utilized solely for purposes related to the studio, such as promotional materials and online platforms. Students understand and agree that no monetary or other claims shall be made for the use of these photos/videos. We value the privacy and consent of our students, and any use of visual materials will be done in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Young people want to express themselves - music does that. Young people want to form friendships - music does that. Young people want to be challenged - music does that. Young people want to succeed at something - music does that. Young people want to have fun - music does that.
