In-Home Lesson Time: Setup & Etiquette
To ensure a productive and focused learning environment, please prepare your home piano space in advance:
Quiet, Dedicated Space: Select a location that minimizes distractions. Avoid heavily used areas (living rooms, media rooms, etc.) and coordinate lesson times with household members to maintain a calm, uninterrupted environment. No TV, radio, or background noise during lessons.
Sanitation: Disinfect piano keys before each lesson for health and safety.
Materials Ready: Have a notebook and pencil available for taking notes and annotating music.
Seating & Work Area: Provide a chair next to the piano and, if possible, a small table or surface for the instructor’s materials.
Health & Attendance: Students who are unwell (fever, stomach illness, contagious cough/cold, etc.) should notify the instructor promptly. Lessons will be rescheduled in accordance with studio policies if necessary.
