In-Home Lesson Policies & Etiquette Checklist
Minimum Session: In-home lessons require a minimum of two students per hour.
Optimized Learning Space: Please ensure your piano area supports a focused, respectful, and creative learning environment. Lessons should be free from background noise, including television, radio, or household distractions.
Household Coordination: If your piano is in a shared or high-traffic space, please coordinate with other household members to maintain quiet during lesson time.
Cleanliness & Safety: For the health and comfort of everyone, please disinfect piano keys prior to the lesson. Students who are unwell—including fever, stomach illness, or contagious symptoms—should notify the instructor in advance.
Prepared Materials: Have a notebook and pencil ready to record feedback, annotations, or practice notes.
Instructor Setup: Please provide a chair next to the piano and, if possible, a small table or surface for the instructor to use during the lesson.
These steps help ensure each lesson is productive, inspiring, and a joyful experience for all students.
